Your Body is the Vessel for Your Purpose

Life can feel heavy at times. The changing seasons, like the long, dark days of winter, or unexpected challenges such as heavy flooding or major life changes, can leave us feeling unsettled and out of control. These external factors often seep into our internal world, making us wrestle with ourselves and our bodies.
In these moments, it’s easy to believe that if we could just “fix” our bodies, we’d regain control over our lives. This mindset, however, can lead to frustration, self-criticism, and a sense of failure when we don’t meet the unrealistic expectations we set for ourselves.
What if, instead of seeing your body as something to fix, you saw it as the vessel that allows you to fulfill your purpose?
The Struggle with Control and Self-Love
When life feels chaotic, it’s natural to seek something we can control. For many women, this often manifests as an intense focus on their bodies—through dieting, over-exercising, or obsessing over appearance. Yet, this approach can leave us feeling even more disconnected, defeated, and at odds with ourselves.

Here’s the truth—and this has been a pivotal realization for me: Our worth is not defined by how our body looks or what it weighs. We are each born with a unique purpose, and our bodies are the incredible vessels that allow us to live out that purpose.
Instead of feeling like a failure for struggling to love your body, consider this: What if your body isn’t the problem? What if it’s your greatest ally, working tirelessly to support you—even when life feels overwhelming?
Yes, Weight Loss Matters—But Let’s Shift the Focus
It’s important to acknowledge that weight loss for health reasons is a valid and significant goal. It’s something I work on with many women every day. But here’s the shift I hope we can make together: moving away from a punishment mentality toward our bodies and instead embracing a mindset of self-acceptance.
Your body is your vessel to greater things and greater experiences. There is no perfect shape, and there’s no point in chasing it. Your smile, your warmth, your ability to be who you are—these are the parts of you that matter most, even today.
As I work with clients, I help them change the way they self-care. Through nourishing food choices, they begin to see food not as something to fear or earn, but as something that helps them feel well. This shift transforms food into a source of empowerment, not control.
How to Reframe Your Relationship with Your Body
Here are three steps to help you shift your perspective and build a positive partnership with your body, even during challenging times:
Acknowledge the Impact of Your Environment
It’s okay to feel unsettled or down when external factors like the weather, natural disasters, or life changes weigh on you. Recognize that these feelings are valid and that they don’t define you. Instead of turning inward with criticism, offer yourself compassion and understanding.
See Your Body as a Vessel, Not a Project
Your body is not a project to perfect; it’s the vessel that carries you through life. It allows you to connect with loved ones, pursue your passions, and make a difference in the world. When you view your body as a partner in fulfilling your purpose, you can approach health and wellness with gratitude and respect.
Focus on Purpose, Not Perfection
When you align your health goals with your purpose, you shift the focus from appearance to function. Whether your purpose is to nurture your family, excel in your career, or contribute to your community, your health becomes the foundation that supports your ability to show up fully and authentically.
Embrace Your Body, Embrace Your Purpose

It’s time to stop wrestling with your body and start partnering with it. You are not a failure for struggling to love your body—it’s a journey, not a destination. By reframing your perspective, you can build a healthier, more compassionate relationship with yourself and unlock the energy and confidence needed to live your purpose.
